We Want Our Brother Atorough Vishigh Vincent Back!!
The family of Atorough Vishigh Vincent wish to call on the
general public to pray for the release of their son Atorough
David Torbee, a police officer serving with Ibafo police station
in Obafemi Awode Egba local govt of Ogun state.
Corporal Atorough David Torbee went on duty with three of his
colleagues on 11th may 2016 but he was the only person that
was reported missing, while his colleagues came back unhurt...
We are therefore, calling on the Inspector General of Police (IG),
Police Service Commission, to prevail on Ogun state
commissioner of police to expedite action towards the release
of our brother, uncle, husband and father.
We also noticed a clear case of complicity from his colleagues,
because prior to the incident, our brother called home and reported to us of threat to his life by his colleagues especially their team driver, one Mr Shola the person he is
accommodating, more so, the flimsy explanation they gave that Corporal Atorough David Torbee, took a cyclist alone in the night at about 8:25pm to chase a vehicle that refused to stop at their duty post and never returned, when they had a vehicle with them and the lackadaisical attitude of he DPO Ibafo Police Station towards this case confirmed our suspicions.
Consequently, we are calling on the State House of Assembly member representing the good people of Guma, House of Rep member representing Makurdi/Guma fed. Constituency, Hon Dickson Tarkighir and senator representing Benue North West (Zone B) Senator Dr. George Akume, His Excellency Governor Samuel Ortom to use their good offices to prevail on the appropriate authority to double up their efforts to ensure the release of their constituent and also to ensure that justice is done on this case.
We sincerely appreciate those who are with us in this most difficult and trying moment of our lives especially the Tiv community in Ibafo, through their efforts we were able to get
this tragic news.
bodies and concerned citizens to help and pray for the release
of our beloved brother. May Almighty God bless you all.

Jose Mourinho Named Manchester United Coach
Jose Mourinho has been appointed as the new manager of Manchester United, the club has confirmed.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss has been handed a three-year deal at Old Trafford, ending months of speculation linking him to the United job.
The 53-year-old replaces Louis van Gaal, who was sacked on Monday despite leading the club to their first FA Cup win in 12 years at the weekend.
Announcing the appointment, Ed Woodward said: “José is quite simply the best manager in the game today. He has won trophies and inspired players in countries across Europe and, of course, he knows the Premier League very well, having won three titles here.
“I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome him to Manchester United. His track record of success is ideal to take the Club forward.”
Mourinho has been an open admirer of Manchester United for many years and has been expected to replace Van Gaal since his sacking by Chelsea in December 2015.
“To become Manchester United manager is a special honour in the game," the Portuguese said. "It is a club known and admired throughout the world. There is a mystique and a romance about it which no other club can match.
“I have always felt an affinity with Old Trafford; it has hosted some important memories for me in my career and I have always enjoyed a rapport with the United fans. I’m looking forward to being their manager and enjoying their magnificent support in the coming years.”

BREAKING!! Man Utd Coach Loius Van Gaal Sacked
Manchester United have sacked manager Louis van Gaal, Old Trafford sources have informed Goal.
The Dutchman led United to their first FA Cup triumph since 2004 on Saturday, with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, though celebrations were quickly overshadowed by speculation regarding Jose Mourinho's imminent arrival.
Van Gaal's two-year reign at Old Trafford proved divisive, with several fans and former players bemused by the Dutchman's playing style having seen United score just 49 league goals this season.
And after Van Gaal arrived at the club's Carrington training ground for work on Monday he was relieved of his duties. The 64-year-old remained cordial throughout the rest of the morning but his backroom staff were seen clearing their desks after being sacked along with the man who brought them to the club in 2014.
Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward was also seen on site alongside one of the club's lawyer.

We killed because Tiv youths stole 800 of our cows – Fulani spokesman
Last weekend’s bloody attack by Fulani herdsmen on Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State has been blamed on Tiv youths.
This was revealed by the spokesman of Myetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Garus Gololo, who said the reason for the Friday night attack on the Tiv people of Agwabi village in Binev Council Ward in Buruku Local Government Area of the state which led to the death of many persons was due to the killing of 800 cattle by Tiv youths.
However, the state police command confirmed five people killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen on Friday night who invaded the affected community.
Gololo said information gathered from his kinsmen in the troubled Buruku area alleged that trouble started when youths from the affected village last Thursday carried away 800 cows belonging to the resident herders.
According to him, “the (herders) traced the missing cows the following day to that village and that was how trouble started.”
“This is highly regrettable because they should have notified the security apparatus already put in place by the state government who could have handled the matter. They didn’t report the matter even to us (MACBAN).
“It is painful that while the state government is doing everything to resolve the crisis, some others are taking the law into their hands. But, those found wanting in this matter would surely be handed over to the security agencies,” he said
Fuel Price Hike: NLC, TUC To Go Ahead With Strike Despite Court Order
Despite an order of the National Industrial Court restraining the Nigerian Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress from going ahead with their planned strike to protest the hike in price of petrol, the strike will go ahead as planned on Wednesday, labor officials have said.
The General Secretary of the NLC, Peter Ozo-Eson, on Tuesday night told PREMIUM TIMES that from all indications the strike would go on as planned.
On the meeting with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, earlier convened to attempt to broker a last minute truce on the matter, Mr. Ozo-Eson said the meeting was yet to hold at about 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
“There was no resolution yet. We are just going for the meeting now,” the NLC scribe said on telephone interview. “We have been meeting on our own on matters that are important to us. It is clear the strike will go ahead as planned,” Mr. Ozo-Eson told PREMIUM TIMES on telephone on his way to the venue of the meeting.
He however assured that an official statement would be issued on the final position after what promises to be an all-night meeting.
The General Executive Secretary of Medical and Health Workers Union, north central, Richard Gbamwuan, in an interview with this newspaper, shortly after an emergency NEC meeting of the NLC held in Abuja on Tuesday, said that they were going ahead with the proposed strike.
“We have resolved to go ahead with the protest nationwide, as far as we are concerned, we are yet to be aware of any court injunction,” he said.
“And if there is any court injunction, we are just doing what federal government is fond of doing. The same Industrial court had stopped federal government from increasing electric tariff but till date federal government ignored us, they still went ahead, so we are embarking on the protest.”
The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, had earlier on Tuesday approached the Industrial Court on behalf of federal government to stop the proposed strike by the organized labour.
Meanwhile, various union leaders in Plateau State said they were ready to comply fully with the directive of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC to embark on a nationwide protest on Nigeria.
The union leaders spoke to PREMIUM TIMES in Jos, Plateau state, on Tuesday, barely 24 hours to the deadline issued to the government to reverse the pump price of petrol to N86.50 by midnight, Tuesday.
The state director, Civil Society Organizations, Steve Aluko, on behalf of NLC, TUC and CSO, in an interview, said they were ready for a showdown with the government, until the new pump price of N145 per litre was reversed to 86.50 Naira.
Mr. Aluko said allied unions had been briefed and directed to mobilise for the protest en masse.
“NECs of the NLC, TUC and CSO’s met, and harmonized the positions, that a complete reversal of prices PMS, high electricity tariff and commencement of a structured inclusive multi-stakeholders dialogue process; by 12am on Tuesday, all members are to commence a general strike and Mass Action on Wednesday.”
The chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Plateau State, Yakubu Taddy, said members of the union were ready to participate in the protest, but urged that it should be peaceful.

Buhari Unveils N.5 trillion Economic Palliative Package
The Federal Government has unveiled a social investment package designed to impact on the lives of over eight million Nigerians. This was disclosed on Sunday by Dr. Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant (Media and Publicity) to the President, during an interactive session with journalists in Abuja. Akande explained that some parts of this package would become operational in the coming weeks.
highlights of the package, said Akande, is the feeding of 5.5 million school children, who are to be fed for 200 school days in the first phase of homegrown school feeding programme for which N93.1billion was budgeted.
Another element of the package is the proposed provision of soft loans to over 1.76 million traders, market women, men, artisans and those involved in agriculture. The loans, he explained, will not require to be conventionally collateralized. Some traders, he said, may get about N60,000. A total sum of N140.3billion has already been appropriated for this in the budget.
Also, one hundred thousand artisans are to be trained in a programme for which N191.5 billion has been budgeted.
Also, one million desperately poor and vulnerable Nigerians are to be paid N60,000 stipend this year in a monthly installment of N5000.
Five hundred thousand unemployed graduates, the presidential aide added, will be paid between N23,000 to N30,000 per month. They will be trained and deployed to work as volunteer teachers, public health officers, and extension service workers among other responsibilities.
Beneficiaries of the scheme will also be given electronic devices to empower them technologically both for their assignments and beyond.
In tertiary institutions, 100,000 tertiary students in Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics (STEM) and Education, Akande further disclosed, will benefit from education grants for which N5.8billion has been already provided for in the budget. This payment, he added, will be directly made to the students.
"When added together this year alone, more than 8 million Nigerians would be benefiting from the Social Investment budget.
"Long before now, the Presidency has made adequate arrangements in the 2016 budget to ensure that Nigerians are lifted from poverty and hardship," said Akande, who operates from the Vice President's office.
He added that jobs would be created by the launch of fresh infrastructural projects and restoration of existing ones.
"The Buhari presidency is keen to ensure that Nigerians are lifted and that if necessary, on an ongoing basis, palliative measures would always be considered to address the conditions of the people," he declared.

Fresh Disease Out Break in Nigeria Again
The Federal Government has alerted Nigerians to the outbreak
of a killer disease known as Stevens-Johnson Syndrome in the
country.
The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, who announced
the outbreak of the disease at a news conference in Abuja, said
the disease had killed one person.
Another person affected by the disease was esponding to treatment at the National Hospital, Abuja.
Urging Nigerians not to panic, Adewole said that the Federal Government was doing everything possible to check the outbreak. He described the health condition as an unusual allergic reaction to medications found in Nigeria and someparts of Europe.
He said, “We have to find a means to communicate with Nigerians, so they should all be aware of this dangerous disease and it is the sole business of the government to enlighten the society by trying to increase their awareness, knowledge and to
improve their quality way of life.”
The minister urged Nigerians to be vigilant and seek urgent medical attention should they notice any sign of a rare disease. Adewole urged members of the public to be more careful while using medications of all kinds.
He called for increased awareness in the use of drugs and in the reading of drug leaflets before use.
At the press conference, a Senior Consultant Physician/Dermatologist at the National Hospital, Abuja, Dr. Olanrewaju Falodun, said:
“SJS is an immune complex mediated hypersensitivity reaction that typically involves the skin and mucous membranes and was first described in 1922 by Albert Stevens and Frank
Johnson. “SJS is a rare and unpredictable reaction, and is also a minor
form of toxic epidermal necrolysis with less than 10 percent
body surface area involvement. “SJS is a rare but serious and potentially life-threateningcontagious drug reaction. Incidence of SJS is estimated between 1.1 and 7.1 cases per million per year and is more prevalent in women than men

Benue State Assembly passes N150.7bn budget for the 2016 fiscal year
The Benue State House of Assembly yesterday passed an appropriation bill of N150.7billion for the 2016 fiscal year.
This represents a N17.3billion increase from the initial N133.3billion presented to the Assembly by Governor Samuel Ortom. Speaker of the Assembly, Mr. Terkimbi Ikyange explained that the sharp increase in the approved estimates was as a result of non-inclusion of some ongoing projects by Ministry of Finance and additional requests by MDAs for inclusion of some projects which were omitted from the proposed estimates.
Major highlights of the bill as approved by the state lawmakers indicated that capital expenditure took the lion share of N84.1billion, while the sum of N66.5billion was set aside for recurrent expenditure. According to the bill, sources of revenue to finance the budget include N45. 6billion from statutory allocation, N53. 1billion was from domestic loans/deficit financing, N10billion from
VAT, while N14. 8 billion is from internally generated revenue among other sources.
The chairman of the Appropriation Committee, Mr. Adam Okloho lamented cases of extra budgetary expenditure and none release of funds as appropriated.

Notorious Bike Snatcher/Killer Apprehended And Paraded By Benue Police
Peace might just have been restored among the famous bike riders (Okada) as the Notorious bike snatcher identified by the police as Sani who has tormented and killed most of their colleagues and made away with their bikes have been apprehended.
There had been an uneasy calm in Makurdi town for the past
two months with registered commercial motorcycle riders
protesting the brutal killing of some of their colleagues by yet-to-
be identified gunmen.
The motorcycle riders, popularly referred to as ‘Okada’
operators, blocked major roundabouts and access roads within
the state capital with their bikes bearing green leaves and heavy
objects, preventing vehicles from plying notable routes.
It would be recalled that in two weeks, four commercial
motorcyclists lost their lives to the assassins who also made
away with their motorcycles.
However, with the apprehension of Sani during the week, the
police said they would eradicate the killer-bike snatchers
syndicate.
The Benue State Commissioner of Police, Dibal Yakadi, who
paraded the suspects among 15 others for committing various
crimes in different parts of the state, said the command was
determined to deal decisively with criminal elements in the
state.
Represented by Moses Yamu, the command’s public relations
officer (PPRO), he said that luck ran out of the suspected bike
snatcher when security operatives on patrol around Lobi
Quarters, in Makurdi, noticed an unusual struggle among three
people over a motorcycle and went to find out what was the
problem.
Yamu said that on sighting the police, two persons took to their
heels while the other, who turned out to be the rightful owner of
the motorcycle, was discovered bleeding profusely from a
gunshot on one of his hands.
The policemen went after the suspects and apprehended Sani,
he added.
The spokesman said the police were on the trail of Sani’s
accomplice and those whom investigations have suggested
were part of the notorious deadly syndicate, while the arrested
suspect would soon be charged to court.
Speaking to newsmen, however, Sani denied his involvement in
the alleged crime, saying that he was on his way home after
spending the night at his uncle’s place in Maddibo, Wadata
suburb of the town, a place near the spot of the incident, when
the police accosted him for reasons yet unknown to him.
He said: “I closed from work about 9.00.p.m. and went to my
uncle’s house in Maddibo. When I realised that it was late for
me to return to my home in another part of the town, I decided
to sleep there. I woke up in the morning and was returning to
my house when the police arrested me on the road at Maddibo.
I’m innocent because I don’t know what they are talking about.”
But, the victim, Benjamin Sokpo, identified Sani as, “the armed
robber who shot me on the hand,” adding that he picked the
suspect from an area of the town known as Zamar, to Lobi
Quarters, around 9.00p.m. last Friday only to get the cruel
surprise of his life.
Sokpo said: “I took the passenger (Sani) from Zamar to Lobi
Quarters at 9.00p.m. But, unknown to me, the passenger had
collaborated with a friend who was waiting at the point. When
we got there, he shot me on the hand while his friend tried to
collect my bike.
“We started struggling and it was at that point that the police
suddenly came and helped me. The police arrested Sani but his
friend ran away.”
Indeed, Sokpo was fortunate, unlike some of his colleagues who
were mercilessly hacked to their early graves.
The case of late James Chambe stands as the most recent and
happened at the High Level area in Makurdi.
Police said that the perpetrator, who might have posed as a passenger, could have cajoled the victim to the quiet area along Bauchi Crescent at High Level about 3 a.m. before shooting him and taking away his motorcycle.
The police command had consistently warned Okada operators to desist from doing their business at odd hours. Chairman of Makurdi branch of the Benue State Motorcycle Riders Association (BEMOA), Austin Akaa, has identified James Chambe as his group’s member.
Akaa said that the victim had conveyed a criminal he probably thought was a passenger to Bauchi Crescent at the High Level around 3 a.m. where he was shot and his motorcycle taken. He urged the state government to revert to the policy of the
immediate past administration in the state which allowed commercial motorcyclists to ply their trade only between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily, appealing to his colleagues to shun operating at odd hours.
Meanwhile, in a statement issued by Godwin Akor, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to Governor Samuel Ortom, in Makurdi, expressed the hope that the syndicate would soon be broken.
Mixed feelings as PMS(petrol) officially Becomes 145 per Litre
It has been a long standing argument by critical assessors of
the economy that deregulation remains the tonic to turn around
the fortunes of the downstream sector of the oil and gas
industry. Those who canvass this position argue that it will
provide enduring solution to the recurring scarcity of petroleum
products and halt the corruption in the subsidy regime.
The payment of subsidy has been digging a hole in Federal
Government’s purse to the tune of about N1trillion annually.
Apart from halting the payment, which not a few Nigerians
describe as a scam,
deregulation will also encourage investors to build refineries
and sell products at market prices, boost investments and
create jobs.
More importantly perhaps, those clamoring for deregulation say
that it will end the paradox of a nation dependent on importation
of petroleum products despite being world’s sixth largest oil
producer.
However, the Federal Government’s announcement of an
increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS),
otherwise called petrol to N145 per liter did not go down well
with some.
Labour union leaders are literarily up in arms over the decision.
Some of them, who spoke with The Nation, could barely hide
their anger and frustration over what they termed as “wrong
timing and ill-conceived” manner the Federal Government
deregulated the sector.
But the Director-General, Enugu Chamber of Commerce,
Industry, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA), Sir Emeka Okereke,
said:“ We have always said let subsidy go; deregulate so that
market forces will determine the price of petroleum products
and the dollar.” . He recalled that because of political exigency,
Goodluck Jonathan failed to take the bull by the horns and
deregulate the sector.
He said this was why the administration buckled under the
pressure by labour unionists and civil society in 2012 when
there was a nationwide protest against the removal of fuel
subsidy.
“ Subsidy doesn’t make economic sense anymore. It has
become unsustainable . We will never come out of the woods as
long as we continue to subsidize the price of petroleum
products,” Okereke said.
The Petroleum Products Pricing and Regulatory Agency
(PPPRA), which statutorily moderates pricing for the industry
said Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Retail
stations on the outskirts of major cities are advised to sell at
price lower than N145/litre.
Labour kick, says increase is unacceptable
NLC President Ayuba Wabba claimed that increase in pump
price of petroleum products would impoverish more Nigerians
and distabilise the country. “Any increase in the price of
petroleum products is unacceptable to labour and we are going
to fight it,” he threatened.

Police run away from protest premises because Woman go unclad!!
A community close to Ebonyi state capital, Nkwegu, was thrown
into confusion on Monday when over 200 women from Afikpo-
South LGA stripped naked to communicate their grievances.
The women took to the street protest the alleged continued
detention of the President General of the community, Ndubuisi
Ekumankama, by the police, Punch reports.
Ekumankama was alleged to have demolished a widow’s house
in Amangwu Edda community of Ebonyi State.
It was gathered that the naked women were on their way to the
Ebonyi State Government House in Abakaliki but were
intercepted by policemen at Nkwegu, near a military
cantonment.
The protesting women were naked in the upper regions of their
body. It was learnt that some policemen fled the scene of the
protest because of the belief that policemen who attempt to stop
naked protesters would die.
The Ebonyi State Police Commissioner, Ibekwe Abdallah, said he
had to send a team of policewomen to the scene of the protest,
who brought the protest under control.
Benue state Governor denies claims by PDP chieftains that he deny them access over public facility for congress
A PDP chieftain, Mr. K. Gbev had earlier claimed the Benue state Governor Dr. Samuel Ortom had order that all public facilities not be given to them(PDP) to carry out their congress as scheduled.
He accused the APC led government of influencing the act in a plight to suppress the opposition from operating smoothly.
But reacting to the allegation on behalf of the state governor, the
state commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development,
Mrs Mwuese Mnyim, said the IBB Square was not allocated to
the PDP to use for its tomorrow’s congress because the party
didn’t follow the normal procedure.
Her words: “For anyone to use the IBB Square which operates
directly under the state ministry of Women Affairs and Social
Development, he/she must go to the place, meet with the
officials who will give him an application form to fill.
“After filling the application form, the Management of the facility
will bring it to my table and when it is approved, the person or
group will be asked to pay into a government’s bank account.
But as I speak now, the PDP has not gone to fill the application
form which I have to approve before the facility will be allocated
to them for their congress”.
The PDP has henceforth been moved to hold in Otukpo.

Sadly, four people died and three were injured in the accident.
An eyewitness said the train derailed on Saturday
night. Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation, Mr.
Sabiu Zakari said that families of two of the victims had been
identified. He went on an inspection of the scene, representing
the Minister, Rotimi Amaechi.
“We were informed when the accident happened and we swung
into action immediately,
but it is unfortunate that we lost four people, while three others
sustained injuries. The three injured have been treated and
discharged. The Federal Government picked up their bills.
“For the dead, we have been able to identify two of them at the
mortuary and we have contacted their families. We will continue
to look for the families of the remaining two. Once we get them,
government will take responsibility of their burial and we will
also facilitate the transportation of the bodies to their relations,”
he said.
Managing Director of Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) Fidet
Okhiria said: “No time for blame game but to reflect on what
happened, mourn those who died and commiserate with their
families.”
He added that those in the coach were illegal passengers who
hid in the loads packed by the coach.
“There are 12 coaches going to Kano from Lagos and 11 of
them are already in Kano. The last one was the one that was
involved in the accident. The train that was involved in the
accident is not a passenger coach but a carrier one. So those
people who died there are illegal passengers who hide in the
loads.”

Is Rev. Fr. JOHN ADEYI Kidnap forgotten?
The increasing wave of violent crimes across the land raised its
ugly head again two weeks ago in Benue state when the highly
revered Rev’d Fr. John Adeyi was kidnapped along the Highway,
on his way from Okpoga to Otukpa, and taken to an unknown
destination by equally unknown men.
The first news of this ugly incident came from Prince Yemi
Itodo, publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Daybreak Newspapers,
who posted it on his Facebook page and later followed up with
an update on the ransom demand by the kidnappers.
Curiously, however, Mr Itodo later posted that he has been
asked to discontinue any update on the matter by people whom
he would not name. They even went further to ask him to pull
down his earlier posts, and, for the Yemi that I’ve come to know
to oblige this request, it must mean that those behind it must be
powerful people in the society, most likely from the security
establishment.
Whoever must have been behind such an order, what Prince
Itodo did was an act of cowardice that has rubbed off on all of
us as the hours have now become days, and days have now
rolled into weeks; without a single hint about Fr. Adeyi’s
whereabouts.
Worse still is that we manage to, individually and collectively,
sleep and wake as if nothing has happened.
Rev. Fr. John Adeyi is an avant-garde trailblazer. As the first
person to venture into Catholic Priesthood from Otukpa, Fr.
Adeyi became a household name in Idomaland during his
Priestly Ordination when the Legendary Idoma Gospel Singer,
Peter Owoicho Otulu, dedicated a track in one of his albums to
his strides. A simple man of very humble disposition, Fr. Adeyi
is the kind that cannot hurt a fly, either by physical disposition
or spiritual orientation, it will, therefore, be a surprise if there is
any other motive behind this criminal act other than monetary
gain; which, in any case, would be least likely because the
reverend gentleman cannot even be counted among the rich or
wealthy.
Considering the foregoing, a few questions readily come to
mind: are there no authorities and agencies constituted with the
duty of maintenance of lives and property or the management
of security and protection of citizens? Are there no documented
channels of reporting incidences such as kidnaps and
molestations or blackmails and threats? If such exist and if
reports have been deposed to, what actions, therefore, have the
responsible agencies taken?
Considering Rev’d Father John Adeyi’s continued detention by
his abductors weeks after the incident was reported to the
Benue State Command of the Nigerian Police Force, one posits
that somebody must be Responsible, some other unit be
Accountable, yet another agency being Consulted and we, the
People must be Informed on activities and actions being
undertaken to secure the release of the reverend clergyman. By
extension, it must either be deduced or inferred that his
continued detention implies failure, either by commission or
omission; by collusion or abnegation or dereliction of said
duties by Security Personnel and Key Stakeholders in the
Security Architecture of both the State and Federal
Governments.
We must not allow Rev’d Fr. John Adeyi to go the way of the
Chibok Girls!
We do believe it is time for a conscience call to all and sundry; a
call to the Inspector General of Police, Mr Solomon Arase,
before he accuses us of exaggeration again, to investigate and
facilitate the release of Fr. Adeyi by any means possible and
reunite him with his family and community without further
delay.
The DSS, the 82 Division of the Nigerian Army (that
superintends the 72 Brigade Command in Benue), the State
Government that specialises in sloganeering, Benue Traditional
Leaders, Local Chiefs and all men of good will must join their
hands together to make sure that Fr. Adeyi is released by his
captors unhurt.
It’s quite unfortunate that the Conference of Catholic Bishops
will go and share a cup of tea at the Presidential Villa with the
President and Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces, H.E.
Muhammadu Buhari at a time that an integral member of the
Clergy, Fr Adeyi, remains in the Kidnappers den and will not
extract a single word of commitment from Mr President about
accelerating his release, if at all his case was mentioned.
Finally, perhaps if Rev’d Fr Adeyi’s abductors are chanced to
read this write-up, I implore them to release this innocent man
of faith unconditionally to avoid the judgement of the Almighty
God.
